About Our Referral Network
Last Updated: June 2026
callwaterdamage911.com operates a free referral network connecting Southern California homeowners with licensed, insured, and IICRC-certified water damage restoration contractors. This page explains exactly how our network works, how contractors are admitted, and what protections exist for homeowners who use our service.
How the Referral Process Works
When a homeowner calls (800) 895-9876 or submits a contact form on callwaterdamage911.com, our dispatch team gathers basic information about the emergency — location, type of damage, and urgency level. We then connect the homeowner with the most appropriate contractor in our network based on geographic proximity, availability, and specialization. The homeowner is under no obligation to use the referred contractor. All estimates and agreements are made directly between the homeowner and the contractor.
Contractor Admission Standards
Not every contractor who applies to our network is admitted. We evaluate applicants based on:
- IICRC Certification — Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) or Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification required
- California State License — Valid CSLB license verified through the Contractors State License Board database
- Proof of Insurance — General liability (minimum $1M) and workers’ compensation certificates reviewed
- 24/7 Emergency Capacity — Verified ability to respond to emergency calls around the clock
- Complaint History — Better Business Bureau, Google, and CSLB complaint history reviewed
- Customer Feedback — Ongoing performance monitoring based on homeowner feedback after referrals
Our Service Area
Our referral network covers all of Southern California including Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Diego County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County. We maintain active contractor relationships in over 300 cities and communities across the region. See our Service Areas page for the complete geographic list.
Our Role vs. the Contractor’s Role
callwaterdamage911.com is a referral platform — we do not perform restoration work, provide warranties on work performed, or enter into contracts with homeowners for services. All restoration work is performed by independent, licensed contractors. All warranties, guarantees, and service agreements are between the homeowner and the contractor directly. We facilitate the connection; the contractor performs and is responsible for the work.
How We Are Compensated
Our service is free to homeowners. We receive compensation from contractors in our network when referrals result in completed jobs. This referral fee model is standard in the lead generation and referral industry and is fully disclosed on our Disclaimer page and in our Privacy Policy. This compensation does not affect which contractors we refer — we refer based on availability, proximity, and qualifications, not referral fee size.
Homeowner Protections
To protect homeowners using our service, we require contractors to:
- Provide written estimates before beginning non-emergency work
- Disclose all fees and potential additional costs in advance
- Maintain active insurance coverage at all times
- Comply with all applicable California contractor regulations
- Honor the IICRC Code of Ethics in all customer interactions
If you have a complaint about a contractor referred through our network, contact us immediately. We take contractor quality seriously and will investigate all credible complaints.
No Guarantee of Contractor Performance
While we screen contractors carefully, callwaterdamage911.com cannot guarantee the performance, quality, or conduct of any independent contractor. Homeowners should independently verify contractor credentials through the California Contractors State License Board and review written contracts carefully before authorizing work. See our full Disclaimer for complete limitation of liability language.
